So every week; either twice a week or once a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, I attend 1 hour Zumba workout sessions. If you are bored of cardio and love to dance, then Zumba is the place for you. Its taken me a while to get this post up and running because I don’t want this to be just another instructional blog post but a review and experience of my weekly workouts.
Zumba fitness workout involves aerobic fitness that are inspired by Latino dance music. It was created by Beto Perez, a Colombian dancer and fitness instructor. Zumba covers several dance styles from Salsa to Merengue. Our classes also feature 10% African Dance which makes the class 100% enjoyable.
There are several other types of Zumba that I haven’t had a chance to experience: Aqua, Toning and Strong by Zumba. I have tried Zumba Sentao and this workout mainly involves chairs. See the link below on one of the classes I attended.
Sentao is a very intense class, however if you frequently do strength training the class would be a walk in the park. Zumba doesn’t target the back so one of my goals this year is to do more exercises to strengthen my back to ease the frequent back aches that I experience.
