CJ’s Restaurant Review

CJ’s is a restaurant located on Koinange Street in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

The first time I went to this restaurant was with two friends after a shopping spree for Ankara material in downtown Nairobi.

I instantly fell in love with the ambience, the setting and decor. It was a bit full but nonetheless a beautiful place. We sat upstairs and as soon as we did the waitress brought us menus.

For a first timer you wouldn’t know what awaits you until it arrives on your table. I loved that their service is quiet fast. Our orders came in less than 5 minutes, meaning their chef and kitchen staff are well organized with their orders.

When the food arrived, I was impressed, surprised and wowed! The serving was besides the regular serving you would get at any other restaurant in Nairobi, it was generous. I can hardly finish any of the portions served here. The number of times I have visited the restaurant, I have had to get takeaway.

On my first experience I had the soft tacos which consisted of 3 tacos with seasoned grilled chicken over jack cheese & topped with house-made salsa, sliced avocado and chopped cilantro wrapped in flour tortillas. You also have an option of beef instead of chicken. It was served with fries but you also have an option of having it with rice as seen on the photo.

On my second experience, I had Southwestern Quesadilla which consisted of marinated chicken with grilled onions and mozzarella cheese in tortillas. Served with sour cream, guacamole and fries. There is an option of choosing beef over chicken for this one.

The drinks are also uniquely served. I had the mango smoothie and the caramel milkshake which I highly recommend.

The Strawberry Mango smoothie was a blend of yogurt, strawberry & mango.

The Caramel milkshake had Caramel and Ice cream.

So if you are looking for a cozy restaurant in Nairobi then this would be the place to explore.
