Behind every successful man by Zukiswa Wanner

About the book

Nobantu has everything a girl could dream of: a brilliant businessman for a husband, two adorable children, and two of the best friends a girl could ask for. And yet, on her 35th birthday, surrounded by glitz, glamour and fame, she realizes something important. What has happened to her ambitions? Her career?

Review

This was a gift from Diana during Christmas of 2016. I had lamented that I hadn’t had the chance to read a lot of books by African writers, she went ahead and got me a couple of books written by African writers.

My thoughts on the book is first of all that it was a feel good book. It’s one of the rare books with a happy ending in it.  I loved this book because it was a short and easy read. The overall theme was centered on a woman who had to decide between pursuing her career or her husband’s career.

Nobantu is described as a woman who is well educated, knows how to manage her finances and to add icing to the cake has ambitions she is successfully following.

  1. Glad to hear that you enjoyed this one. I am yet to read anything by Zukiswa but I have heard good things about her books. Tryng to quickly get through my mountain of ARCs( 24 books now) so that I can read a few African Lit before the year ends.

    Great review!
